Samsung Facebook Page
I’ve been invited as Guest Photographer for the Samsung Facebook Page. I will be posting tips and photos taken with the NX100 weekly. This first week’s theme is on Pets Photography.

Hop on over to read about how this picture of Jaws, and more, came about!
The Eagles
Watched The Eagles last night. We thought we had good seats, but it turned out that I had a thick bunch of cables blocking me. On top of that, people from the gallery decided to come down and stand behind us, drunk and blocking all the air-conditioning. However, it was a really good concert, all three hours of it. I still don’t quite understand the idea of going to watch people sing, but that’s just me. :)

Permanently Sour After 35
Was watching an episode of ’30 Rock’ this week, and came across this brilliant conversation between Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy. Tina Fey is such an awesome writer.
Liz Lemon:
You know what, this whole thing is unfair. You’re juggling two beautiful women while I have to pay to have kickballs whipped at me. This is gender inequity out the yang.Jack Donaghy:
This has nothing to do with the slight difference in our genders.Liz Lemon:
Yes, it does. The older you get, the more distinguished you are. Meanwhile, I’m reading a book called “Hide Your Arms, Hide Your Anger: Dating Over 35.”Jack Donaghy:
Lemon, I am successful romantically because I am confident, open and positive. You are negative, pessimistic and in danger of becoming permanently sour.
I Love You Mummy!

After lunch one day, she wanted to cross Alkaff Bridge and was really pleased that we did, as evident on her cheeky face.
I love it whenever I drop Clare off at school, she’d yell out, “I LOVE YOU MUMMY!” as she walks down the corridor to her classroom. Always makes me feel lucky and so loved.
Reset
Woke up this morning feeling like I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Nothing seemed to be going right. Wrong contact lens solution. None of the new hairclips I bought for Clare didn’t seem to fulfil its purpose. Forgot to set the alarm but thankfully, I woke up on time. Feeling like I’m on the brink of fever and now have the bitter acidic taste of backdrip in my throat. Was annoyed that Clare was taking a long time with breakfast and as a result I forgot to give her her morning glass of milk.
On the way to school, with half a sandwich in hand, she looked at me with big doleful eyes and said, “I don’t want to go to school today, mum, because I will miss you.”
Totally made my heart melt and made me realise that I should stop focussing on the negative and appreciate the present. Like the time I had with her in the car before dropping her off at school. :) Because I know I will miss her too.

Clare’s First Day at Football Training
Some months ago, T was kicking the soccer ball around with Clare when he discovered that she (thankfully) didn’t inherit her ball-handling skills from me (or lack of it). She could actually dribble the ball and probably afraid that I would not believe him, he recorded it. He was right and I encouraged him to sign her up for football lessons so that it will be their thing they do together.
Today was Clare’s first lesson and this mummy decided that she would come along for moral support (and to practice shooting sports). She is the only girl in class and one of the smallest. She was really excited about it and had loads of fun. At one point, she came up to us and said, “I never had so much fun in my life before and I’m very hot and tired.”
Of all the sports to take up, football was the last I thought I’d be sending my kid too since it’s probably one of my least favourite sports around (till this day, after being explained to many times, I still don’t understand the concept of ‘off side’). But I’m really glad that she enjoys it and perhaps I can learn a thing or two about the sport!

Warming up.

Waving to mummy like the football superstar.

She’s a left leg shooter. She’s left handed too.

Her nervous tick is to tug at her hair.
At the end of the day, I took this photo of her and when she saw it, she exclaimed, “Alamak! I look like a boy here! Take another picture of me!”
