Box of Gourmet Surprises
Posted on 08.26.10 to Food, Photography by JoanI’m not a huge dessert person when it comes to cakes and such. There are a few things that I particularly enjoy though, and one of them is pana cotta. My first experience with it was when it was prepared by a dear friend, who served up pana cotta with pear soaked in red wine at one of his dinner parties. It was divine.
Amanda had a box from Cookyn With Mervyn‘s new service, Box of Gourmet Surprises, delivered to my place, and I was thrilled that it contained the recipe and ingredients for Strawberry Pana Cotta. I almost never make desserts and this was the perfect opportunity to try.

It was a success! Except maybe I didn’t mix the gelatin well enough. But overall, it tasted good and it saved me the hassle of searching for the recipe, searching for the ingredients, apportioning the ingredients, etc. Love it!

My BOGS had French duck breast and I made tagliatelle with a duck ragu and a roasted duck breast salad.
