Adventures With Dinosaurs
Posted on 02.19.10 to Friends, Photography by JoanThe Swedes I met on the mountain came by over the Chinese New Year break (after spending 3 weeks in Borneo) before heading back to Sweden. So I took a break for two days and played tour guide (and nanny/babysitter) to the two Swedish giants who invaded tiny Singapore. These are some photos of my Adventures with Dinosaurs. View the rest here. I kinda miss having them around because it was two days of totally not thinking about work for me, so it felt like I was on holiday myself.

Posing in front of the ‘Lion Fish’. My friend Kim says this picture looks like a show open.

They became instant celebrities because they were all so big. Henrik’s 2m, Daniel’s 1.8m. I told the Indian guys that each photo with them would cost $1. And I was told, apparently, being seen with an ‘englishman’ is apparently a big deal back home, hence, the mass photo-taking.

They climbed Via Ferrata and completed it in 20 minutes, with a break even! I climbed it the week before and took an hour.

They had a larger audience earlier.

They even had energy to climb the rock wall after.

Daniel’s veins, after the climb.

Post-climb, pre-dinner snack: hamburger and Big Mac. These guys eat A LOT because they burn a lot of energy. 3 full meals + 2 snacks.

I never saw a Mega Mac till that day – four beef patties!

Brought them for Singapore Sling at New Asia Bar, at least they are not pre-mixed like at Long Bar.

Last meal of the trip: Brazillian churrascharia at Carnivore. They were so happy to have meat on tap.

Circus freakshow. The giant and the midget.

So now we know, the height of my flat is 2m + 1 Swedish arm length high.

Goodbye for now. One was happy to go home, one wasn’t too happy to go home, while one was just glad home was 20 minutes away (vs travelling for 22 hours). Small, medium, large. I like being friends with them, because I feel tiny.

This is funny. It’s a freak show, alright! haha.. You should have included your daughter in the group pictures. Then you have XS, S, M and L!

Bing: Yes! You’re right! She’ll be ultra tiny.
Jo: Thanks! :) I’ll be sure to tell him that.
