Wild Honey
Posted on 01.04.10 to Food, Personal by JoanIf you’ve been following me on Foursquare and/or Twitter, you’ll know that I’ve been to Wild Honey two days in a row, and three times in the past two weeks.
I was first introduced to it by Rozz (who has more pictures and wrote a review here), and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. I really like the decor of the place – it reminds me of quaint little shops you can find at Soho in NYC, and of course, it was interesting to try breakfast from all over the world, at any time of the day. It’s like being permanently on holiday.
The first time I went there, I only had the Banofee Brulee, a drink, which can be considered a meal on it’s own. The drink is made up of a lot of bananas, caramel and has this giant meringue sitting on top of it. It’s delightfully sinful and the perfect companion for an afternoon of reading.

Over the past two days, I had the Tunisian and Scandinavian breakfast. The former consists of two sunny side eggs with tomato stew and sausages, served with a side of fresh cucumber and tomato salad, and a few slices of toast.

The Scandinavian breakfast is made up of poached salmon with hollandaise sauce, rosti, asparagus and fresh tomatoes (still on the vine!). My companion this morning, Angelia, polished off her Tunisian breakfast and declared it a good meal.

It is a great place to have a tete-a-tete with your girlfriends, or if you’re lucky enough to score an armchair, curl up in a corner with a good book (on a non-busy day, that is).

Hey Joan,
After reading your entry, I am very determined to try out their breakfast this weekend! Heh heh. This is not really relevant, but I read on Hungry Go Where site that photography is not allowed. Were you secretly snapping your food or they no longer care? :)
sounds awesome.. shall put it on my list of places to visit (and have meet-ups) when i’m back..
Wish they had places like that here. All of your food looks/sounds divine!
OMG banofee!! Dave’s aunt makes the best banofee pie and I got to have it the second time at NYE, I’m so happy you posted this now I can get my banofee fix even tho it’s not exactly the same – I just think bananas and caramel and cream were just made for each other! Thanks for the post! Will definitely check it out.
