30 List: #21 Fly a Kite
Posted on 10.26.09 to 30 List, Clare by JoanWe decided to take Clare kite flying during her birthday. Terence’s sister, Carolyn, bought some kites and we headed off to Marina Barrage on a Sunday evening. It was quite nice seeing all the kites in the sky.
I have never flown a kite in my life. I only have a picture of my dad and I at Marina South, watching people flying kites, when I was just a little kid. Hence, it became #21 on my 30 List.
Terence’s dad claims that the kite weren’t of good quality, thus not easy to fly. But after a while of trying, and with Clare’s help, I managed to get the kite up in the air. It was quite an awesome feeling watching it fly high up into the sky! I was almost sad to have to reel it back in when it got entangled with two other kites. In the process, it got ripped, so I couldn’t fly it again.
My kite’s the yellow one below the colourful triangle one.
That’s Terence’s kite, which went boom-and-doom after it got tangled with someone else’s kite.
