To The Zoo!

Clare and I like playing a game. I’ll name animals and ask her for the corresponding sounds they make. Sometimes she’ll do the reverse and will give me a pop quiz instead. Oftentimes, she would ask to see the polar bears at the zoo. I’ve been promising to do so the past few weeks, but as usual, work and life got in the way and my little girl has been patiently waiting. So I took the afternoon off today to bring her to see the animals.
I, on the other hand, was pretty keen to see the elephants (I’m beginning to think that it might be one of my favourite animals, after the dog), so I was glad that the elephant show was just about to start when we got there.

We paid $5 to feed the elephants fruits and Clare freaked out about getting up close to them. I had to put her dolly at my pants because I was afraid she’d drop it in the water.
After feeding the elephants, we went on an elephant ride. Again, Clare freaked out when she suddenly realised that we were going to ride on one. But she soon adjusted and actually enjoyed herself, although she was clinging on to me for dear life throughout! When she got off, she was telling her dad, excitedly, that she sat on one and even touched its ear!

We also bumped into my friend, Caroline and her two girls, Chiara and Noelle, who were queuing to ride on the elephant after us. Her girls are so much braver than Clare about getting so close to the elephant!

Am quite thankful we purchased tram tickets too because the weather was sweltering, and it did help us save some time to get from place to place. Managed to get some nice pictures of Clare while waiting for the tram because the light was gorgeous!

This is my little monkey waiting for the tram.

All in all, we had a lovely time, especially Clare. I think we should get the family pass now that Clare’s older and is able to appreciate excursions to the zoo better.
