25 Forever

I celebrate my last 20-something birthday today. Last night, I told everyone that I was celebrating my 25th. Someone chimed in, “And it decreases every year!” (I think it was my wickedly humourous friend, Jussi. I can’t remember.)

I’m actually pretty freaked out that this will be the last of my twenties. When I was a teenager, I would think about my life in the twenties and imagine how it would be like. I never thought about my life in the thirties, and it actually feels pretty surreal. It also feels like there is a lot of growing up to do, befitting the advancement into the next age group.

Thanks to all for the love. Here’s to old friendships strengthened; to solidifying new good friends; to accepting the transcience of some; to the loving permanence of family; to many life lessons learnt; to growing up.

hey! happy birthday! and sweetie, you shouldn’t be freaked out. you’ve accomplished so much more than many of us in our 20s. if you were like me, in the last of the 20s, still in school, still with no clue what to do with her life, then you should freak out. but you have a beautiful daughter, a great family and an amazing career. have fun! enjoy!
