Portobello Market

Posted on 09.05.08 to Photography, Travels by Joan

One of the places I really enjoyed in London was Portobello Market. My friend took me on a walkabout there and I ate a lot, and snapped a lot. It’s a really interesting place, an eclectic mix of things. I spent so much time looking around that I sometimes forgot to take pictures, such as books that are hundreds of years old, quaint shops, lovely bookshops, etc. Nonetheless, here are a few of my favourite snaps of the day.

Buses. I love bokeh. I want to invest in more prime lenses.

Car in an Italian restaurant.

I wanted to buy an entire set but they were so costly. And I couldn’t decide on one road name, so I didn’t buy any. :P

Old cameras — I like. But have no time to play with.

The guy behind the cameras. I wonder how/why he had all of them in the first place.

I was told off by the lady who owns this shop because I FORGOT to ask for permission. :( Shame on me! But she allowed me to take one shot after.

hey joan

I’m thinking of making a short 3 day trip to London this month, enroute from Germany. When is portobello market open and do you have any good (and economical) suggestions for accommodation? Thanks so much if you can respond. :)
