Production

It’s been terribly busy at work, ’cause we are in the midst of production. I’m glad it’s going to be over soon, and yet at the same time, I’m not. The best part about being on production is having my crew and cast around — it’s like a giant family gathering. And usually when production ends, I feel this strange sense of emptiness and suffer from withdrawal symptoms.
I love the people I work with. I respect every single one of them for what they have achieved and their talents. And they are such great people to be around with: great sense of humour, great personalities, great working attitude. I always go home with a stomach aching from all that laughter and a mind high on endorphins produced whenever we have a good and smooth shoot.
I sometimes wished I was on production more, or for longer, but that would be a killer trying to get pre-production sorted out.

Went for a long run tonight with my neighbour. He, who looks pretty much like Popeye’s nemesis, Bluto, has been procrastinating for months. He took me on a scenic route round the exterior of Singapore General Hospital (past the morgue!), and we then walked to Great World City in search of coffee (he’s trying to stay awake for a soccer match tonight) but none were opened. We headed back to a coffee shop near our neighbourhood, got some drinks, then headed back. I said ‘hi’ to his dogs, Apple and Yippee!, before I went home. (Thunder is totally in love with Apple, by the way.)
One thing I really like about production is the fact that I lose a fair bit of weight because [a] I’m standing around all day working; [b] I help to carry stuff for set-up; [c] I’m either too buzzed or tired to eat. In fact, the past few days of production has helped me lose more weight than when I was trying to start my run and cycle regiment.
And the good thing about running with people is — you are too polite to stop early!
