Elise’s BBQ
Posted on 09.30.07 to Clare, Friends, Personal by JoanIt has been nine months since we sent Elise off at the airport, when she made the decision to leave Singapore and head back to France. She is here for the weekend, having been in Hong Kong the past week for a work trip. It was lovely to see her again, and of course, yet another great excuse for the group to get together and catch up.

Clare actually behaved much better than I thought she would, considering how she was in an incredibly foul mood the entire day. It started out first with her waking up at 3.30am and making a terrible fuss, while head butting and pinching me. When she woke up again at 8am, the first thing she did was to wail. The rest of the day, she refused to nap and even when she did, the naps only lasted half an hour. Neither did she finish her meals. So I really thought she’d have a terrible meltdown at the BBQ tonight but it turned out, she had some fun and only whined a little. We even stayed out late!
The food was good and I am incredibly stuffed (need to go running tomorrow to make up for it!). And we rounded off the night with a game of dai ti (a card game) while the rest watched ‘The Simpson’s Movie’. Clare even had a rather pleasant time playing with Cyanne and thankfully, there was no fighting or wailing from Clare the potential bully.
