fring

Do you have a mobile phone that can connect onto the internet? Want to turn it into a Skype phone at no extra cost? Or are you a Twitter addict and are sick of spending money sending SMSes to update your Twitter account?

Fring is the answer! (And it’s free!)

At a launch I attended last Saturday, my friend Kelveen told me about this software called Fring which you can download into your phone and you can connect onto your Skype account and chat using any wireless network available. On top of that, I can update my Twitter account too, which is why I have decided to put the update box back my blog. You can also connect to MSN, Google Talk too, but I have pfingo and my BlackBerry for that. (Did I ever mention how much I love my BlackBerry? More about that later.)

I tested the Skype call last night and the connection didn’t seem too bad. Connection to Twitter seemed to take a while to establish though, and I don’t see my fring updates on the update box. It could be a Twitter problem though. Other than that, it really is quite a cool software. Imma totally lovin’ the free Skype calls!

I really am amazed at how fast and far along technology has advanced. These days, I’m hardly in bed with my laptop because I can surf and chat so easily from my mobile phone. Really cool stuff, eh? (Was chatting with Howard via Twitter last night and he was teaching me all sorts of cool shortcuts one can use with Twitter.)

Everybody now: All hail geeks! :)
