My dearest Clare,

You turn 7 months today and I’m actually wishing that time would slow down a little so that I can enjoy you more. I can’t believe that you’re more than half a year old and in no time, we’d be celebrating your first birthday.

In this seventh month, I was gone for a week in New York for work. During that time, you decided that sitting around and playing with your toys was not enough, and crawling was too amateur for you. So you learnt to pull yourself into a standing position which nearly gave your father a heart attack because when you first stood up in your cot, we hadn’t lowered the mattress yet.

When I was gone, you had a great time bonding with your father. He took such good care of you, Clare, and just so that you’d know – he loves you very, very much.

We upgraded your car seat this month and we have so much fun with you now because you can see us sitting in front of you. When we turn around to look at you, you break out into a wide smile at us. You also love looking out of the window epsecially when it rains. You’re beginning to notice the world around you now and I find it such an amazing experience watching you discover new things everyday.

The past few days has you vocalising new sounds. No longer are we limited to your laughter (which I love so much) and yelling, you now go “buh-buh-buh-buh-buh”, “ah!”, “bwueh bwueh bwueh” and a lot of pretend coughing. Also, you pretend to gag each time you’re full from eating your solids or when you don’t like the taste of it. It’s quite a funny sight actually but it’d better be something that only occurs in your babyhood and not later!

You’re putting on weight slowly and nicely now. Last month, you were only in your 10th percentile. Now, you’ve reached your 25th! What joy!

Oh and how can I forget the last thing – you were a cover girl for Digital Life (our newspaper’s weekly technology supplement). Everyone kept on telling me how cute you were in the photo and I was beaming with so much pride. Because yes, my darling, you are indeed super cute. Even when when you’re rolling around our bed refusing to sleep. Even when you wake up at night and stare at me for a few seconds. Even when you’re busy ripping your toys up. And especially when you play with our dogs.

I love you so very much my darling daughter. Here’s to another month of hoping your teeth would sprout!

Love always,
Mommy

hi Clare’s mommy, you have a very beautiful daughter. she is such a delight!

please forgive me for trespassing but i would like to draw your attention to this article: http://parenting.ivillage.com/baby/bsafety/0,,9r5v,00.html

it would be safer to keep Clare rear-facing till she is much older.

my apologies if you find this an intrusion.
