NY, NY!
Posted on 04.18.07 to Personal, Travels by JoanJust dropping in a note to say that I got into NY fine. It was a direct flight and it was a bit of a torture really. Somehow, midway through the flight, the cabin was terribly warm I was actually breaking out a sweat. And I couldn’t get much sleep so I ended up watching a tonne of movies and shows – Happy Feet, The Devil Wears Prada, Babel, Notes on a Scandal, Extras, and Frasier.
The city is so pretty! My hotel’s pretty close to Times Square and I was so mesmerised. Took the Subway tonight and met this black american who didn’t know what Singapore was. He was amused that we speak English too and wanted to ask for my number. I grabbed fellow crew member, James, and pleaded with him to stick close by.
Got to go sleep and wake up early tomorrow for a meeting. So ciao for now.

I missed New York, the last time I went was four years back.

It’s amazing people still think Singapore is some ulu part of China. They naturally assume all chinese looking people are from china.
We know more about western cultures and people bcos we watch their tv shows & movies. Many westerners only watch their own western shows, ‘cept for crouching tiger/hidden dragon.
