Weddings Are Just Once In A Lifetime

Posted on 06.06.05 to Personal by Joan

Let me say, for prosterity sake, that I am glad that one gets married just once in a lifetime. Even if either of us have thoughts of backing out in the future (touch wood!), our religion would forbid us to do so. Thank God on this one.

Planning for this wedding has been quite tiring. Even with our personal pledge to not stress up over it. Luckily, and thankfully, for family. My grandma, mum and step-mum have been most helpful in putting together the stuff for the dowry. Likewise, Terence’s mum has been busy with her end of the dowry for the gift exchange, which will be taking place this Saturday.

We worked out about 90% of our time-table yesterday, went through the list for the dowry, organised the dinner seating arrangement, calculated the amount of money we still need to pay vendors and helpers; and we ended up getting quite depressed over the amount of work that needs to be done for the wedding. *sigh*

We should have just eloped to Italy and gotten married in some pretty church.

i’ve seen first hand or perhaps second hand just how much work and effort is required to plan for a wedding (and not to mention a heck of a lot of money) and i’m certain that i need to find a girl i can elope with.

“putting together the stuff for the dowry”

First of all, dowry?

Also, I have visions of cows and chickens and gold in antique chests, i kid you not. Hehe.

Jasmine, no, I diss wedding planners. I think they are gross – for personal reasons of course.

It really isn’t that much work when you learn how to work efficiently. It’s the human factor that works very much against you. :P

C, you’re pretty close!
